Applying DMAIC Methodology to Reduce Defects of Sewing Section in RMG: A Case Study  [PDF]
Dewan Maisha Zaman, Nusrat Hossain Zerin
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2017.712093
Abstract: Global competition, crying off profit margin, customer requirement for high quality product at near to the ground cost and other economic factors set in motion the manufacturer to reduce their production cost without concession of quality in order to stand up in business area. Defect or wastages reduction is the initial step to reduce production cost as well as improve the quality. Higher quality comes with the reduced cycle time by reducing alternation. Apprehensive this issue, this work walks around the use of DMAIC methodology of six sigma to lessen the defect rate in sewing section of FCI (BD) LTD. Throughout five phases of DMAIC methodology, named Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, this approach minimizes defects analytically. In different phases, different types of six sigma tools were exercised. Pareto analysis was acted to identify the top defects and root causes of those defects were sensed. These were done for Ladies’ tops and trousers. Brainstorming and literature review helped to endow with some potential solutions to overcome the problem. With the remedial action and implementation in pilot run, the result found is very noteworthy. The defect percentage has been reduced from 11.67 to 9.672 and as a result, the sigma level has been upgraded from 2.69 to 2.8.

Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2022, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1109317
Abstract: The severity of the ozone layer destruction problem has called for rapid developments in environmentally friendly air conditioning technologies. Ongoing deregulatory efforts in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) nations will ease the penetration of thermally activated heat pump systems. Absorption (liquid-vapor) and adsorption (solid-vapor) heat pump systems are thermally driven and have the advantage of being environmentally benign: both their ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and their GWP (Global Warming Potential) are zero. Adsorption cycles using silica gel-water as the adsorbent-refrigerant pairs have a distinct advantage over other systems in their ability to be driven by the heat of relatively low, near-ambient temperatures so that waste heat below 100°C can be recovered. The multi-bed multi-stage silica gel-water-based adsorption systems can be powered by low-temperature waste heat below 100°C, even as low as 50°C if the multi-stage regenerative scheme is adopted.

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/am.2013.49176
Abstract:

In this work, we investigate one class of Volterra type integral equation, in model case, when kernels have first order fixed singularity and logarithmic singularity. In detail study the case, when n = 3. In depend of the signs parameters solution to this integral equation can contain three arbitrary constants, two arbitrary constants, one constant and may have unique solution. In the case when general solution of integral equation contains arbitrary constants, we stand and investigate different boundary value problems, when conditions are given in singular point. Besides for considered integral equation, the solution found cane represented in generalized power series. Some results obtained in the general model case.

An Edgeworth Box Approach toward Conceptualising Economic Integration  [PDF]
Hasanuzzaman Zaman
Modern Economy (ME) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/me.2011.21010
Abstract: The joint-communiqué originating from the January 2010 summit between India and Bangladesh has opened new doors of opportunities for addressing economic integration not just between India and Bangladesh, but across the South Asian region. In this article, an Edgeworth Box approach has been deployed to help con-ceptualise the various Pareto-optimal solutions that are to be realised through close bilateral cooperation in particular. The article attempts to address some of the issues deterring establishment of trade and transport integration between Bangladesh and India, which are also relevant from the perspective of the entire South Asia region.
Early Postnatal Care Practices for Mothers and Their Babies in Bangladesh: An Integrative Literature Review  [PDF]
Nusrat Jahan, Md. Shahidul Islam
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2022, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2022.102018
Abstract: This integrative review aimed to describe the experiences of early postnatal care practices for mothers and their babies in rural Bangladesh. This study was conducted using an integrative review method outlined by Coughlan, Cronin and Ryan. An integrative search in ProQuest, PubMed, CINAHL, Sociological Abstract, and Google Scholar was conducted. The key terms include safe motherhood, postnatal care, MDGs, newborn care, maternal mortality, TBAs, cultural practice in childbirth and Bangladesh. After screening of the full-text and guided by the relevance of the studies against the inclusion criteria, a total of 22 studies were selected for final review. The results reveal that women’s behaviours and attitudes during the postnatal period are shaped by individual beliefs and views as well as by socio-cultural practices. It shows how indigenous knowledge and practices affected women’s postnatal care practices for generations. From the results, it is clear that rural women in Bangladesh followed many cultural practices during childbirth and postnatal period. In rural Bangladesh, postnatal care behaviour is mostly imposed by traditional cultural practices. Therefore, it is important to understand women’s cultural practices around childbirth, and in particular to understand their experiences during the postnatal period.

Golden Research Thoughts , 2013, DOI: 10.9780/22315063
Abstract: The moral crisis being faced by every nation at present arises out of unwise, materialistic and undisciplined application of human faculties. Education along with the family and the society could prepare every generation to make the correct and appropriate choice. It is well understood that education of parents and greater participation of parents in higher education is the road that every nation must tread at primary stage of children for inculcation of values and morals. Hence the study is conducted with the objective: To study the impact of the education of parents on moral values of their children studying at primary level. It was hypothesized that there is no significant impact of the education of parents on the moral values of their children. Survey is conducted in primary schools of Akola city regarding the moral values of the primary level students with respect to education of their parents, stratified random sampling methods are used for sample selection, a total of 200 students sample were selected for different categories of parent's education level. The data collected was analyzed with the help of statistical techniques such as mean, SD, Anova and t test. It is that education of parents has positive impact on moral values of their children at primary level. Moral values of primary level children of highly qualified parents are significantly higher than moral values of primary level children of lower level educated parents. mothers level of education has greater impact on moral values of primary level children than fathers level of education.

Abstract: Carbon tetra chloride is a reference hepatotoxic compound, which is oxidized into highly reactive and toxicfree radicals in the body. These free radicals cause hepatic damage by hydropic and fatty degeneration.OBJECTIVES: Objective was to study the chronological pattern of hepatic injury induced by free radicalsand the process of auto recovery in male albino rats. It was prospective, interventional and observational study.Twenty four adult male albino rats were divided in two groups, A control (12) and B experimental (12). GroupB was administered carbon tetra chloride (0.05 mg/100 g body weight) as a single intraperitoneal dose. Theanimals were sacrificed by decapitation at 4 hours, 1,2,3,4 and 8th day after the intoxication. Morphologicaland histological changes were observed in liver on gross and light microscopic examination. Routine andspecial stains were employed. CONCLUSION: The first minimal histological effect was observed with in4 hours of introduction of carbon tetra chloride. The maximum fatty changes were observed in 48 hours, whichcontinued till 96 hours. The improvement in fatty changes began after 96 hours and normalization took morethan 8 days.
